Clio is the gold standard for law practice management, with more users, recommendations and awards than almost any other competitor.
But when they migrated from goclio.com to clio.com they lost a significant amount of non-branded SEO traffic and couldn’t explain why. Despite engaging mulitple SEO agencies over the course of years, the reason remained unexplained.
We helped them fix the situation and build the strongest organic profile in the industry.
Our Solution
We worked on improving Clio’s SEO baseline across technical, content and user experience SEO metrics. When SEO growth remained elusive, we continued our technical analysis and discovered a bug on Google’s algorithm that was misidentifying the site (and others) as a parked domain. We were able to surface it and get it addressed by Google’s Search team, something unheard of within the SEO industry.
After this, we were able to focus on content growth and content iteration to dominate the legal content SEO vertical.

Clio became the de facto owner of the law firm management topic in eight months. Starting from nothing, we made Clio the most visible player across all funnel stages, taking oxygen from its competitors in terms of brand recognition and authority.
